We are known to be huge fans of pork. Also, we are very fond of bagoong or shrimp paste. What if we combine these two in one dish? The result is PORK BINAGOONGAN that is just so savory that you can’t help but have an extra serving of rice! Here’s how you can make this Pinoy recipe.

What You Need

  • 1 kg pork, cubed
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 5 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup tomato, chopped
  • 1 pc chili, sliced
  • ½ cup shrimp paste
  • 4 pcs dried bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp whole peppercorn
  • 24 oz water
  • salt and pepper

What To Do

    1. Boil water in a cooking pot.
    2. Add the pork, vinegar, and dried bay leaves. Simmer for 40 minutes or until meat is tender.
    3. Remove the meat from the pot and set aside.
    4. Sauté garlic, onion, and tomato in a separate pan.
    5. Add the shrimp paste and simmer for 5 minutes.
    6. Add the pork and cook for 7 minutes. Stir well to mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
    7. Add the chili and simmer for another 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
    8. Serve hot.
